Weekend Camping
1. Camping equipment will be checked 2-Wednesdays before the camping trip; check propane, will we need charcoal for this camping trip, ask for Grub Master volunteer, finalize food for trip and start Grub Master Grocery List. Scout Leader to apply for Tour Permit.
2. Issue permission slips for all scouts who will be attending the trip.
3. Request moneys for trip are in 2-Wednesdays before the trip.
Any moneys turned in the Wednesday before the trip must be cash.
4. Check trailer for travel, lights, tires, and hook up to tow vehicle.
5. All permission slips will be turned in to Adult Leader in charge, NO SLIP…NO TRIP!
6. Depart from Church parking lot by 6:30 p.m.
7. Arrive at camp site: set up troop gear first, 2 propane lanterns for lighting, cooking tent (g p small), propane stoves (bleed gas and test), set up field sink, trash bag, chuck boxes (set up on legs), get all food from vehicle into cooking tent, place fire extinguisher in cook tent, get water for breakfast, set up dining tent, propane lantern for lighting, place picnic tables inside, post cooking crew patrols, etc.
8. Set up personal gear.
9. Extreme cold weather get fire started, hot chocolate, get water for fire ring, shovel and rake.
Saturday Morning
1. 6:00 a.m. Patrol cooking crew wake up and start breakfast, boil water for hot chocolate, coffee, and for food warmer. (cook crew when food is done place in food warmer to keep hot)
2. 7:00 a.m. serve breakfast.
3. Breakfast cooking crew start boiling water for cleaning of breakfast dishes. (cooking crew will not leave camp until breakfast dishes are cleaned, unless excused by an adult leader)
4. Clean up cooking tent, water from breakfast dishes can be used for the fire ring everything should be neat and somewhat orderly.
Saturday Mid Day
1. Patrol lunch cook crew will be back at the camp site by 11:30 a.m. to start preparing lunch to be served at 12:00 noon, depending what we will be eating for lunch the lunch cook crew may have to be back at camp earlier.
2. Lunch cooking crew start boiling water for cleaning of lunch dishes. (cooking crew will not leave camp until lunch dishes are cleaned, unless excused by an adult leader)
3. Clean up cooking tent, water from lunch dishes can be used for the fire ring, everything should be neat and somewhat orderly.
Saturday Evening
1. Patrol dinner cook crew will be back at the camp site by 4:30 p.m. to start preparing Dinner to be served at 5:30 p.m., depending what we will be eating for dinner, the dinner cook crew may have to be back at camp earlier.
2. Dinner cooking crew start boiling water for cleaning of dinner dishes. (cooking crew will not leave camp until dinner dishes are cleaned, unless excused by an adult leader)
3. Clean up cooking tent, water from dinner dishes can be used for the fire ring, everything should be neat and somewhat orderly.
4. Start to prepare the cooking tent for departure Sunday morning, whatever we can put into trailer do, organize cook tent for morning
Sunday Morning
1. Light breakfast, doughnuts, cereal, etc.
2. Scouts will not be permitted to leave with out assisting in the break down of camp!
3. All Scouts will participate in policing the campsite…LEAVE IT BETTER THAN YOU FOUND IT!!!
4. Departure time will be 9:30 a.m. Quarter master will assign equipment that will need to be taken home to be cleaned. (if cooking gear is cleaned as described above there will be a minimal amount of equipment that will need to be taken home)
5. Camp Master will inspect camp site for cleanliness.
6. Troop Leader will check out at registration cabin to pick up any paper work, patches, etc.
7. Check trailer for travel, lights, tires, and hook up to tow vehicle.
8. Go Home!
Summer Camp
1. 3 months prior to summer camp Scoutmaster will notify any Scouts or Adult Leaders about the currency of their Medical Forms.
2. Camping equipment will be checked 2-Wednesdays before the summer camp; check propane, will we need charcoal for this camping trip, ask for Grub Master volunteer, finalize food for trip and start Grub Master Grocery List.
3. All Medical forms will be updated by parents and new forms turned in to Scoutmaster 2 weeks prior to summer camp.
4. Issue permission slips for all Scouts who will be attending the trip.

6. The Wednesday before summer camp Scoutmaster and 2 other Adult Leader will go to camp to review medical forms and other items before coming up to camp:
Librarian along with Quartermaster will put Merit Badge Library in trailer for use at summer camp
Older Scouts will go over with newer Scouts items that are essential for a good summer camp
Quartermaster will help Grubmaster with coolers for food
7. Check trailer for travel, lights, tires, and hook up to tow vehicle.
8. All permission slips will be turned in to the Adult Leader in charge, NO SLIP…NO TRIP! (verify all slips are in folder before leaving parking lot)
9. Sunday morning meet at Shopping Center parking lot by 12:00 p.m. Departure after all scouts are present, unless Scouts have made other arrangements with Scoutmaster.
10. Arrival at camp site: ALL VEHICLE MUST PARK AT THE WINTER ADMIN. PARKING LOT UNTIL THE CAMP HAS BEEN INSPECTED BY SCOUTMASTER, AND THEN 1-VEHICLE AT A TIME WILL BE PERMITTED TO THE CAMPSITE.
At the site put perishable foods in refrigerator, other food on shelves, set up cabin for a week long of cooking, set up troop gear first, etc.
11. Set up personal gear.
12. After personal gear has been set up get ready for medical rechecks and swim test. Recheck time to be announced
13. Medical recheck will be held at the Nentico Pavilion, and the swim test at the pool.
(DO NOT LEAVE THE POOL AREA INDIVIDUALLY, YOU WILL ARRIVE AS A TROOP, AND YOU WILL LEAVE AS A TROOP!)
14. Sunday evening cook crew will get dinner started, eat, cleanup dinner dishes, clean cabin, DO NOT LEAVE ANY DISHES IN ANY OF THE SINKS!!!
15. Get Troop together for camp tour. Time to be announced. (ALL SCOUTS MUST ATTEND TOUR AND NEW SCOUT PAY STRICT ATTENTION TO THE CAMP GUIDE!!!)
16. If you will be arriving at camp any day other than Sunday with the troop, you will need to be checked in at the Administration building with your parent or guardian, you will need to have your medical recheck, and swim test before you can join the Troop for the week.
17. If you are leaving camp for any reason during the week you must check out at the Administration building before you leave.
Monday – Friday Morning

1. Troop 978 has parents night on Wednesday evening, parents can come up to camp and bring siblings, and a favorite food your little darling.
